(4)Nothing in this section shall be deemed to apply to any article which under the orders of the Commissioner of Police in the City of [Chennai] [Substituted for the word 'Madras' by the City of Madras (Alteration of Name) Act, 1996 (Tamil Nadu Act 28 of 1996).] or the Superintendent of Police in a district has become the property of the person to whom it was supplied in accordance with the rules made under this Act.
