The Court: The petitioner is a lawyer who after completing his LL.B degree from University of Calcutta was enrolled with the Bar Council of West Bengal on December 21, 1990 and his enrollment No. is F/789/742/90. In limine the petitioner states that he is practicing in this Hon'ble High Court at Calcutta as an advocate ever since his enrollment with the Bar Council of West Bengal and is also a member of the High Court Bar Association and has put in many years of practice in this Hon'ble High Court with honesty and competence. It is his grievance that the respondent has failed to clear his professional bills.

Learned counsel for the respondent has handed over a cheque of Rs.20,790/- towards the amount admitted by the respondent, for the professional fees of the petitioner.

The petitioner has accepted the said cheque without prejudice to his right to claim the disputed amount in accordance with law.

In view thereof, the petitioner does not intend to pursue the present writ petition. Hence, the same is dismissed as withdrawn with liberty to the petitioner to ventilate his grievance for the disputed amount before the appropriate forum in accordance with law.
