Section 58 in Punjab Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads Act, 1961
58. Procedure when acquisition by agreement is not possible.-
Whenever a Panchayat Samiti or the Executive Officer is unable under section 57 to acquire by agreement any land or any other immovable property, the Government may, in its discretion, upon the application of the Executive Officer, made with the approval of the Panchayat Samiti, order proceedings to be taken for acquiring the same on behalf of the Samiti, as if such property or land were needed for a public purpose within the meaning of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894, and on payment by the Panchayat Samiti of the compensation awarded under the said Act and all charges incurred by the Government in connection with the procedings, such land or property shall vest in the Panchayat Samiti.
