FACTS :
The matter is called for hearing today dated 16.11.2010. Appellant not present. The public authority is represented by Prof K.K. Mishra, Director, IGRMS (AA); Shri Vikas Bhat, Curator & Shri Ashok Tiwari, Curator (CPIO).
2. It is noticed that the vide RTI application dated 13.10.2009, the appellant had sought information on 08 paras from the CPIO. The issues raised by him essentially concern disappearance of 700 items from the Sangrahlya and the physical verification of the items being maintained therein.
3. The CPIO had given para-wise information vide letter dated 10.12.2009. As regards para 04 of the RTI application, the CPIO had mentioned that copies of the Index Cards would be provided to him shortly.
4. It appears that the appellant also filed first appeal which does not appear to have been decided. Hence, the present appeal.
5. The aforesaid officers are heard. It is their say that copies of the Index Cards have since been supplied to the appellant. It is also their say that physical verification of the items is continuing and is likely to be concluded by the end of the current year.
6. We note that the appellant has raised issues of general public interest. He is, however, not present before the Commission to have his say in the matter. In the premises, we deem it expedient to remand the case to Prof K.K. Mishra, Director, IGRMS, to re-visit the matter and pass an appropriate order, after affording an opportunity of hearing to the appellant.
7. The order of the Commission may be complied with in 04 weeks time.
