FACTS
Vide RTI dt 9.4.12, appellant had sought information on 28 points relating to various roll numbers.
2. PIO EdCIL vide letter dt 17.4.12, transferred the RTI to KVS HQ. PIO KVS vide letter dt 4.5.12, provided partial information.
3. An appeal was filed on 19.5.12.
4. AA vide order dt 28.5.12, upheld the decision of the PIO.
5. Submissions made by the appellant and public authority were heard. Appellant submitted that he has not been provided copies of preference of posting submitted be the 28 selected candidates. The PIO denied the information on the ground that this is personal information u/s 8(1)(j) of the RTI Act and moreover the information is available with the regional offices.
DECISION
6. The Commission does not agree with the contention of the public authority in denying the information u/s 8(1)(j). If the information resides with the ROs, we direct 1 the PIO to transfer the RTI to the concerned ROs and direct them to provide the information to the appellant within three weeks of date of receipt of the order.
The appeal is disposed of.
