Section 77(a) in The Delhi Municipal Corporation Act, 1957
(a)at a meeting for the election of a Mayor the Administrator shall nominate a councillor [***] [The words "or an alderman" omitted by Act 67 of 1993, section 57 (w.e.f. 1-10-1993)] who is not a candidate for such election to preside over the meeting;
