Section 805(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)All Sub-Inspectors and Sergeants will be required to pass the examination in languages prescribed below within the period of probation. Failure to pass within the prescribed period will make them liable to removal from the service in the case of those officers appointed direct and to reversion in the case of others.
