Section 2(v) in The Assam Fire Service Rules, 1989
(v)'Fire Prevention and Fire Safety measures' means such measures as are necessary in accordance with the requirements laid down in Chapter IV of the National Building Code of India, 1983 for the prevention, control and fighting of fire for insuring the safety of life and property in cases of fire;
