Section 10(2) in The Assam Agricultural University Act, 1968
(2)The Board shall consist of the following members :(a)The Vice-Chancellor - Ex-officio Chairman ;(b)(i)the Finance Commissioner ;(ii)the Secretary, Panchayat and Community Development Department;(iii)the Agriculture Production Commissioner ; and(iv)the Secretary, Veterinary Department;(c)One eminent Agricultural Scientist with background of agricultural research, or education to be nominated by the Chancellor ;(d)Two progressive farmers or livestock breeders ;(e)A distinguished industrialist or manufacturer having special knowledge in Agricultural Development nominated by the State Government;(f)One outstanding woman social worker preferably having background of rural advancement nominated by the State Government;(g)Three members of the Assam Legislative Assembly to be elected by the Assembly;(h)Two representatives of teachers, one from teachers teaching agriculture ; and the other from teachers teaching veterinary ;(i)The Director of Agriculture ;(j)The Director of Veterinary and Animal Husbandry ; and (k) A representative of Indian Council of Agricultural Research.
