1. The learned counsel for the petitioners refers to an order No. 02/2022 dated 13.01.2022 issued by the Ministry of Defence, Department of Military Affairs to the Chief of the Army Staff, which reads, inter alia, as under:-

Sir, I am directed to refer to the Para3.8.12of VI CPC Report and Part B, Section II S.No. VIIl of the CDS (RP) Rules, 2008, Ministry of Defence, D(Civ-I) letter No. 2(1)/2009-D(Civ-I) dated 26 July 2010 and Honourable CAT, Chandigarh Bench order dated 17 Nov 2018 passed in BA no. 060/00059/2018 in OA No. 060 / 00368/2016 and to convey the sanction of the President for the grant of the following upgraded pay scale to the Fire Fighting Staff in the Army Ordnance Corps under Ministry of Defence :-

This order will be effective from 1-1-2006. The initial pay fixation as on 1-1-2006 done in accordance with the Note 2 below rule 7 of the CDS (RP) Rules, 2008.

2. The petitioners are Fire Engine Drivers working with the Director General, Ordinance Services.
3. The aforesaid benefits of upgrade in pay scales are in acceptance of the Signature Not Verified Digitally Signed By:KAMLESH KUMAR Signing Date:15.04.2022 11:59:10 recommendations made by the 7th CPC.
4. The petitioner seeks application of the aforesaid pay scales, which, have been made applicable to persons identically placed.
5. None appears for the respondent.
