SHRI K. NAVASKANI (RAMANATHAPURAM): Rameswaram stands for national integration. Daily, a huge number of people all over the country as also from different parts of the world are visiting Rameswaram and Rameswaram comes under my Constituency. Ramanathapuram itself is a famous place from where so may multi-millionaires are doing variety of business all over the world, particularly, in places like Dubai, Saudi Arabia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Sri Lanka. They play a very important role in the economy of our country. People are doing cotton production business, spices and sea-based product business. The nearest airport to Rameshwaram is Madurai which is 200 kilometres far away. I would urge upon the Government to provide an airport under Regional Air Connectivity Scheme also known as UDAN scheme at my Constituency, which is the need of the hour.
