Section 2(k) in The Bihar Irrigation Field Channels Act, 1965
(k)'Panchayat Samiti' means a Panchayat Samiti constituted under the Bihar Panchayat Samitis and Zila Parishads Act, 1961 (Bihar Act VI of 1962), and includes a Block Development Officer acting on the advice of the Block Development Committee in areas where that Act has not been enforced;
