1. Affidavit-of-service, as filed today, is taken on record.

2. The instant writ petition has been filed by the writ petitioner, who is the private respondent in OA 2072 of 2018 before the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal (hereinafter referred to as the said Tribunal), praying for an appropriate order directing the said Tribunal to dispose of the OA 2072 of 2018 (LRTT) preferably within a period of four weeks.

3. We have heard the learned counsels for the parties. We have perused the orders passed by the said Tribunal in connection with OA 2072 of 2018 (LRTT).

4. It appears from the order dated 14 th August, 2024 that the said OA has been fixed for hearing on 6th May, 2025. By the said order, the said Tribunal granted liberty to the 2 applicant of the said OA to file affidavit-in- reply.

5. Considering the entire factual scenario, as reveals from the various orders as passed in the aforementioned OA, we are not inclined to pass any direction for preponeing the date of hearing of OA 2072 of 2018 (LRTT). However, while disposing of the instant writ petition, we request the West Bengal Land Reforms and Tenancy Tribunal to dispose of OA 2072 of 2018 (LRTT) on the returnable date i.e., on 6th May, 2025 or as expeditiously as possible, preferably within a period of three months thereafter, without granting any unnecessary adjournment to any of the parties to the said application.

6. The learned advocate for the writ petitioner is hereby requested to communicate server copy of this order to the private respondent no.6 by speed post within a week from date.

7. With the aforementioned observation, the instant writ petition is disposed of.

8. There shall, however, be no order as to costs.

9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties, upon compliance of all requisite formalities. (Partha Sarathi Sen, J.) (Tapabrata Chakraborty, J.) 3
