Section 39(1) in U.P Consolidation of Holdings Act, 1953
(1)Subject to any conditions or restrictions that may be prescribed, the [Director of Consolidation, Deputy Director Consolidation] [Inserted by U.P. Act No. 38 of 1958.], Settlement Officer Consolidation, Consolidation Officer or Assistant Consolidation Officer may, by written order, require any person to produce such documents, papers and registers or to furnish such information as he may deem necessary for the proper exercise of his powers or the proper discharge of his duties under this Act.
