Section 405 in Karnataka Municipal Corporations Act, 1976

405. Powers to order removal of patients to hospitals.

(1)If, in the case of any person in a hospital, it appears to the officer in charge of it that such person is suffering from a dangerous disease or if, in the case of any other person it appears to the health officer or assistant health officer that such person is suffering from a dangerous disease,-
(a)is without proper lodging or accommodation; or
(b)is lodged in a place occupied by more than one family; or
(c)is without medical supervision directed to prevent the spread of the disease,
and if such officer in-charge, health-officer or assistant health-officer, as the case may be, considers that such person should be, removed to a hospital or other place at which patients suffering from such disease are received for medical treatment, he may remove such person or cause him to be removed to the said hospital or place:Provided that, if any such person is a female she shall not be removed to any such hospital or place unless the same has accommodation of a suitable kind set apart from the portions assigned to males.
(2)Whoever obstructs the removal of a person under this section shall be deemed to have committed an offence punishable under section 269, of the Indian Penal Code, 1860.
