(2)The list of the contesting candidates shall be prepared in such languages as the State Election Commission may direct and shall contain the names in alphabetical order and addresses of the contesting candidates as given in the nomination paper. The alphabetical order shall be determined with reference to the surnames of candidates having surnames and the names proper of other candidates duly following the provisions under sub-section (2) and (3) of Section 41 of the Act and if the list is prepared in more than one language, the names of candidates therein shall be arranged in alphabetical order according to the script of such one of those languages as the State Election Commission may direct. If a poll is found to be necessary, the Returning Officer shall specify symbol assigned to each candidate:Provided that if two or more candidates bear the same name, they shall be distinguished by the addition of their occupation or residence or in some other manner. The names of such candidates shall be arranged in the order in which their nominations were received by the Returning Officer.
