Section 1A(3)(a) in The Subsidiary Rules

(a)
(i)Leave means total leave of all kinds referred to in F.R. 81 B and S.R. 157 A, other than leave preparatory to retirement, taken for a period not exceeding 120 days; or the first 120 days of the leave if the actual duration of the leave exceeds that period.
(ii)When earned leave is combined with leave on medical certificate, or when leave on medical certificate only is availed of the drawal of allowance under S.R. 150 shall be admissible for the first 4 months only, even if the actual duration of such leave exceeds that period.
