Section 5(1) in First Statutes of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad
(1)The Governing Council shall have the following powers in addition to the powers conferred upon it under sub-section (1) of section 14 of the Act, namely:-(a)facilitate the Central Government in the process of appointment of Director under section 18 of the Act;(b)abolish, re-designate or change the nomenclature of any post except that of Director;
