Section 61(2) in The Chennai Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Act, 1978
(2)No owner or occupier shall allow the water of any sink, drain or latrine or drainage from any stable, or place, or any other filth to run down on, or to or be put upon, any street, or into any sewer in or along side of any street except in such manner as shall prevent any avoidable nuisance from any such filth soaking into the walls or ground at the side of the said sewer.General
