15. Open-cast working.
(1)In open-cast workings the benches formed shall be so arranged that the benches in ore/mineral and overburden are separate so as to avoid mixing of waste with the ore/minerals.(2)The benches in overburden shall be kept sufficiently in advance so that their workings do not interfere with the working of ore/minerals.(3)Orientation of the workings and sequence of mining operations shall be such that different grades of ore/minerals can be obtained simultaneously for blending with a view to achieve optimum recovery of ore/minerals from the deposit.
