16. Powers and Duties of the Chairperson.
(1)The Chairperson shall ensure that the affairs of the Board are run efficiently and in accordance with the provisions of the Act and these rules.(2)The Chairperson shall have the powers of general superintendence over the officers and staff of the Board and the Chairperson may issue necessary directions for the conduct and management of affairs of the Board.(3)The Chairperson shall convene and preside over all the meetings of the Board and shall ensure that all decisions taken by the Board are implemented in proper manner.(4)The Chairperson shall have full powers for granting administrative and financial sanction to all estimates.(5)The Chairperson shall exercise such other powers and perform such other functions as may be delegated to him, from time to time, by the Board.
