1. In furtherance of the directions dated 26/05/2022, the learned A.P.P. has placed on record the applicant's medical report under the signature of the Medical Offcer, Mumbai District Women Prison, Byculla, Mumbai.
The said report is taken on record and marked as 'X' for identifcation.
2. The report comprises of the investigations carried out, which include various tests as well as ultrasonography M.M.Salgaonkar ::: Uploaded on - 09/06/2022 ::: Downloaded on - 09/06/2022 22:19:55 ::: 2/2 37 BA-1639-22.doc conducted on 20/04/2021. The clinical diagnosis of the patient is assessed as "hypertension with bronchial Asthama under treatment and under control." The patient is reported to have been referred to J.J. Hospital (Obstetrician and Gynecology Department) in April 2021 for heavy bleeding and all investigations are carried out and treatment is provided. Her present status of health is described as good with all vitals being stable and with no complaints.
3. The learned counsel for the applicant states that though the applicant was taken to the J.J.Hospital, the treatment which necessarily must include medicines are not supplied.
The Medical Offcer of the Women Prison shall ensure that all necessary medicines which have been prescribed are made available to the patient/applicant within time. In case, there is failure to supply the necessary medicines which are prescribed, the jail authorities shall be liable to face an action.
4. In the wake of the report tendered today, the prayer of the applicant to release her on medical ground stands rejected.
