50. Magistrate's power to impose enhanced penalties.
- Notwithstanding anything contained in [Section 29 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973 (2 of 1974), it shall be lawful for any court of a Metropolitan Magistrate] [Substituted by Act 38 of 1984, w.e.f. 12.3.1985.] to pass any sentence authorised by this Act in excess of its powers under the said section.
