96. Bye-laws.
(1)A Panchayat may make bye-laws consistent with this Act and rules made thereunder.(2)In making bye-laws under sub-section (1) the Panchayat may direct that a breach thereof shall be punishable with a line which may extend to two hundred fifty rupees and in the case of the continuing breach with a further fine which may extend to live rupees for every day during which the breach continues alter the first conviction.(3)A bye-law shall not come into force until it has been confirmed by the prescribed authority.(4)The manner of making bye-laws and their approval shall be such as may be prescribed.
