The Court : On 11th May, 2010 I directed the petitioner in these five matters to renew the bank guarantees. Mr. Chatterjee learned Counsel for the petitioner submitted that his client is experiencing some difficulty in renewing the bank guarantees. He submitted that instead of renewing the bank guarantees, his client is ready and willing to deposit a sum of Rs.1,38,00,000/- which is the aggregate amount guaranteed under the aforesaid bank guarantees.
Let the sum of Rs.1,38,00,000/- be deposited with Standard Chartered Bank Branch, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose Road, Calcutta in favour of the Registrar, Original Side of this Court. The fixed deposit receipt drawn in favour of the Registrar, Original Side, be produced on Friday i.e. 21.05.2010. The order dated 11th May, 2010 is varied to that extent. The deposit shall be done for a period of 181 days for the time being.
