(2)Excise Officers sending up cases for trial should always note in column 7 of the report whether the witnesses will appear with or without summons. Prosecuting officers should understand that they will be held responsible for procuring the witnesses on the dates fixed for hearing and applying for remand in the case of their non-attendance.
