Section 9(1) in The Tamil Nadu Police (Reform) Act, 2013
(1)In every Police Station, except those specifically designated as Crime Police Stations, there shall be a Law and Order Wing and an Investigation Wing, both working under the control of the Station House Officer, who shall ensure co-ordination between the two wings.
