(1)No person shall prevent a child of age group of 5 to 14 years from attending school.(2)Any person violating the provisions of sub-section (1) may be punished with fine which may extend to one thousand rupees. The fine may be imposed by the Gram Sabha or local body after giving the person concerned an opportunity of being heard. The fine so imposed shall be recovered as an arrear of land revenue.
