Section 5(r) in The Bharathiar University Statutes
(r)"University Centre" means any area within the University area recognised by the Government on the recommendations of the University and containing one or more colleges competent to engage in higher teaching and research work and to promote University life in a manner calculated to prepare for the institution of a new University;
