When a Registering Officer finds that a correction is necessary in a copy or memorandum of a document forwarded by him to another Registering Officer, he shall send an erratum to the latter, who shall file it in the Book No. 1, carry out the correction and add a note on the original explaining the circumstances under which the correction is made. A reference to the page and volume of the file book in which the erratum has been filed shall be entered on the original memorandum or a copy, and the indexes shall also be corrected accordingly.
