Section 1 in The U.P. Participatory Irrigation Management Act, 2009
1. Short title, extent and commencement.
(1)This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Participatory Irrigation Management Act, 2009.(2)It extends to the whole of Uttar Pradesh.(3)Save as otherwise expressly provided in this Act, it shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Gazette appoint and different dates may be appointed for different areas, different irrigation systems, different levels (e.g. minor canal level, distributary canal level and other higher levels) of an irrigation system and for different provisions of this Act.
