Section 79 in Punjab Jail Manual

79. [ Weekly inspection parade of prisoners. [Part II, Rule 48.]

(1)The Superintendent shall hold a weekly parade of all prisoners for the time being confined in the Jail for purposes of muster and inspection. The parade shall ordinarily be held on the Monday of each week.]
(2)At each parade held under the preceding clause, the Superintendent shall satisfy himself -
(a)[ that every prisoner is properly classified as provided in the rules in that behalf;] [See Chap. XVII.]
(b)[ that every prisoner is provided with proper clothing and bedding as provided in the rules in that behalf;] [See Chap. XXXVIII.]
(c)that every prisoner is clean both in person and clothing;
(d)[ that the provisions of the remission rules are understood by the prisoners, and that each prisoner knows the extent of remission (if any) thereunder which he has earned;] [See. Chap. XX.] and
(e)generally that the rules and orders applicable to prisoners are being duly carried out.
(3)The Superintendent shall, at every such parade, hear every request or complaint (if any) which any prisoner may desire to make and shall, in due course, inquire into and pass orders thereupon.[Note [P.G. Jails) dated 5th August, 1925.] - On such parades, every prisoner shall neatly arrange his bedding, spare clothing, history ticket, cup and platter on the front end of his sleeping mat and sit or stand at attention at the other end, exposing the palms of his hands to the Superintendent's view.]
