(xi)In the event of the occurrence of vacancy in the office of the Vice-Chancellor by reason of death, resignation or otherwise, the Chancellor may appoint any person to act as Vice-Chancellor until a regular appointment of Vice-Chancellor is made in accordance with section 9.
