249. Prohibition against obstruction of Panchayats.
- Any person obstructing or molesting the President, or the Executive Authority or the Chairman or the Commissioner or the [Secretary] [Substituted for the words 'Chief Executive Officer' by Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Third Amendment) Act, 1998 (Tamil Nadu Act 28 of 1998).] or a member of the Panchayat, or any person employed by the Panchayat or any person with whom a contract has been entered into by or on behalf of the Panchayat in the discharge of their duty or of anything which they are empowered or required to do by virtue or in consequence of this Act or of any rule, bye-law, regulation or order made thereunder, shall be punished with fine which may extend to fifty rupees.
