Section 9(3) in The Merchant Shipping (Tonnage Measurement Of Ships) Rules, 1960
(3)Where the tonnage of a ship has been or is deemed to have been ascertained under these rules, the tonnage shall not be altered unless the alteration is made in the form or the capacity of the ship or it is discovered that the tonnage has been erroneously computed, and in either of these cases, the ship shall be remeasured and her tonnage ascertained in accordance with these rules.[9-A.
