Section 35 in The Indian Port Health Rules, 1955

35.

(1)A ship shall be regarded as infected with smallpox if it has a case of smallpox on board, or if a case of smallpox has occurred on board during the voyage.
(2)Any other ship shall be regarded as healthy, even though there may be suspects on board, but any suspect on disembarking may be subjected to the measures provided for in Cl. (iii) of rule 36.
