(2)[The Dean shall be elected by the members of the Faculty Council and shall act as the Vice-Chairman of the Faculty Council] [Words substituted by W. B. Act 31 of 1981.] and shall be responsible to the Vice-Chancellor for the faithful observance of the Statutes and regulations relating to the Faculty. In carrying out his responsibilities the Deans shall work in close collaboration with other officers including the Associate Deans, Directors of Research and Extension and shall generally work through the Heads of the Departments of the Faculty.
