(4)Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-section (2), the Chancellor, on the recommendations of the State Government may, at any time, by an order in writing, remove the Vice-Chancellor from the office on the ground of incapacity, misconduct or violation of statutory provisions:Provided that no such order shall be made by the Chancellor unless the Vice-Chancellor has been given a reasonable opportunity of showing cause against the action proposed to be taken against him:Provided further that during the pendency of any inquiry, the Chancellor may, on the recommendations of the State Government, place the Vice-Chancellor under suspension.
