Regarding Framework Agreement Signed Between The Union Government And National ... on 11 April, 2017
Sixteenth Loksabha an> Title: Regarding framework agreement signed between the Union Government and National Socialist Council of Nagaland (IM).
*DR. THOKCHOM MEINYA (INNER MANIPUR): Madam Speaker, I rise to raise an important issue. On 3rd August, 2015 Government of India and NSCN (IM) signed a ‘Framework of Agreement’. And it appears nobody knows the content of it. During the recent election campaign in Manipur, Hon. Prime Minister has declared in a public meeting at ‘Langjing’ that the territory of Manipur is not at all mentioned in this Agreement.
Now Muivah says that the Agreement contains the integration of Naga inhabited areas of Manipur, Assam and Arunachal Pradesh. People of Manipur want to know the truth. Even through RTI we are not getting the details of this Framework Agreement.
Nagaland Tribe Council (NTC) has questioned the Chief Minister of Nagaland for unconditionally supporting the Agreement without knowing the details.
The demand of NSCN (IM) for Nagalim or Greater Nagaland is unacceptable because it includes a large chunk of the territory of Manipur and other states. Government of Manipur also wants to know the details of the Agreement but to no vail.
Hon. Prime Minister’s version about the Framework Agreement is contradictory to that of Muivah’s. People are very anxious to know the actual content of the Agreement. I demand and urge upon the Hon. Prime Minister to make a statement in Lok Sabha to clarify the position tomorrow in this ongoing session.
Thank you.
