FACTS
Heard today dated 26.12.2012. Appellant not present. The public authority is represented by Dr A. Batobyal, Joint Commissioner (AA) and Dr C.S. Sahukar, Assistant Commissioner (CPIO).
2. It is noticed that in the RTI application dated 12.08.2011, the appellant had sought certain informations about the slaughter houses in India where cows and calves etc. are slaughtered. Vide letter dated 31.10.2011, the CPIO had informed the appellant that no such information was being maintained by the Department as licensing of slaughter houses is being done by the local authorities. However, during the hearing, Dr Batobyal submits that the Food Safety and Standards Authority, presently working under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has started maintaining this information w.e.f. 5.8.2011.
3. In the premises, the CPIO is hereby directed to transfer the impugned RTI application to the CPIO of said Authority u/s 6(3) of the RTI Act with a copy thereof to the appellant.
4. The matter is being closed at the Commission's end.
