Section 8(1) in The West Bengal Panchayat Act, 1957
(1)Every Gram Sabha shall hold one annual general meeting and one half-yearly general meeting :Provided that the Adhyaksha of the Gram Panchayat may, at any time, and shall, upon a requisition in writing by not less than one-fifth of the total number of members of the Gram Sabha, within twenty-one days from the receipt of such requisition, convene an extraordinary general meeting.
