There is a delay of 107 days in filing these review petitions and though the explanation given in the application for condonation is far from being satisfactory, we condone the delay.

The issue involved in the appeals was whether raw marks secured by the candidate in the Civil Services Examination must be furnished by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) in response to a request under Right to Information Act. After considering the entirety of the matter, this Court observed in paragraph 10 as under:

“Weighing the need for transparency and accountability on the one hand and requirement of optimum use of fiscal resources and confidentiality of sensitive information on the other, we are of the view that information sought with regard to marks in Civil Services Exam cannot be directed to be furnished mechanically.” Signature Not Verified Digitally signed by ANITA MALHOTRA Date: 2018.09.06 17:18:24 IST Reason: With this view, the orders passed by the High Court were set aside and the original writ petitions were dismissed.

We have gone through the contents of the review petitions and do not find any error apparent on the face of the record to justify our interference in review jurisdiction.
These review petitions, therefore, stand dismissed.
