WP(C)/30373/2020 on 12 November, 2020

                                         W.P. (C) No.30373 of 2020

02. 12.11.2020 As Lock-down period for COVID-19 is continuing, this case is
taken up today in Court through Video Conferencing.
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Addl.
                      Standing Counsel for the State.
The sole challenge made in this writ petition is, ban imposed
by the State Government on sale of fire-crackers during the ensuing Diwali
period in view of the pandemic situation, apprehending rise of feeling
suffocation due to emission of poisonous gas / smoke, etc. by bursting of
fire-crackers. Such a noble order of the State Government has been
challenged by the petitioner on the ground of his terms of license.
Regard being had to the present pandemic situation in the
State for COVID-19, I do not find any merit in the prayer made by the
petitioner in his writ petition, and accordingly the writ petition stands
                      dismissed.
As Lock-down period is continuing for COVID-19, learned
