Section 29(1) in Tamil Nadu Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Rules, 2017
(1)Where any land acquired under the Act remains unutilized for the period of five years from the date of taking over possession of land by the Requiring Body, the Collector shall, in the first instance examine as to whether that land may be required for any other public purpose. If he is satisfied that such land will be required for any other public purpose, he shall certify the same and recommend the State Government to revert the land to any Government entity that focuses on the conversion of Government owned vacant, abandoned, unutilized acquired lands and tax-delinquent properties into productive use.
