- Carboys containing nitric acid or "mixed" acid shall be stored in opensided sheds detached from other buildings, and placed on a flooring of sands, on brick, or other suitable inorganic materials. A passageway shall be provided and kept free from obstruction between every four rows of such carboys. An ample supply of water shall be available for washing away spilt acid and all precautions shall be taken to prevent workers being exposed to fumes.
