Section 938(a) in Police Regulations, Bengal , 1943
(a)This uniform will be the same as for Inspectors with the following exceptions:-(i)Sub-Inspector shall wear a fatigue cap by night instead of forage cap.(ii)Sergeants shall wear shorts instead of breeches.(iii)Sub-Inspectors shall wear knickers instead of shorts.
