FACTS :
The matter is called for hearing today dated 13.7.2010. The appellant (who reportedly has since retired from service) is not present. The public authority is represented by Shri S. Ravi, Scientist-G (CPIO) & Ms Sudershan Kaur, Addl Director.
2. It is noticed that in his RTI application dated 15.4.2009, the appellant had requested for copies of his ACR for last 15 years, starting from 1997. Besides, he had also requested for the promotion policy in DRDO. This information was denied to him by CPIO vide letter dated 28.4.2009 on the ground that queries raised by the appellant did not fall in the ambit of RTI Act. The AA vide order dated 10.6.2009 had affirmed the decision of CPIO.
3. During the hearing, the CPIO fairly submits that he has now no objection to provide this information to the appellant. However, providing copies of the ACR for the last 15 years would put undue burden on the resources of the organisation and requests for shortening this period.
DECISION
4. The orders of CPIO & AA are set aside. The CPIO is hereby directed to provide copies of the appellant's ACR for the last 07 years as also the information on the other paras.
5. The matter is decided accordingly.
