- i. A candidate by direct recruitment shall report for duty before the authority on the date specified in the order of appointment.ii. Notwithstanding anything contained in sub-rule (1) the appointing authority may, on the application of the candidate, if satisfied that there are good and sufficient reasons for doing so, by order in writing, grant such further time as it may deem necessary.iii. The name of the candidate who fails to assume charge of the post within the time specified who fails to assume charge of the post within the time specified in the sub-rule (1) or within the further time granted under sub-rule (2) shall stand deleted from the list of selected candidates and he shall cease to be eligible for appointment.
