Section 247(3)(a) in The Naval Ceremonial, Conditions Of Service And Miscellaneous Regulations, 1964
(a)[Chief Engine-Room Artificers, Chief Ordance Artificers, Chief Electrical Artificers, Chief Shipwright Artificers, Chief Aircraft Artificers, Chief Mechanicians, Chief Aircraft Mechanicians and Chief Electrical Mechanicians shall rank and command over all other' [sailor] of these eight branches. "Chief" [sailor] [Substituted by S.R.O. 16-E, dated 13th August, 1968.] within one of these branches shall rank and command between themselves according to seniority in "Chief" [sailor] [Substitued by S.R.O. 16-e, dated 13th August, 1968] "Chief" [sailor] [Substitued by S.R.O. 16-e, dated 13th August, 1968] of two or more of these branches shall rank and command between themselves by seniority as Chief Petty Officer. Where "Chief" [sailor] [Substitued by S.R.O. 16-e, dated 13th August, 1968] of any of these eight branches are together with Chief Petty Officers of other branches they will rank and command according to seniority as Chief Petty Officer.]
