Section 12(1) in The U.P. Minor Minerals (Concession) Rules, 1963
(1)Except as provided in sub-rule (2), a mining lease in respect of sand or morrum or bajari or boulder or any of these in mixed state exclusively found in the riverbed shall be granted for a fixed period of five years and in respect of other minor minerals for a period not less than five years and not more than ten years.
